Foundation for Developmental Disabilities’ 2024 Season of Sharing Program

The holiday season, traditionally a time for family, sharing, and joy, often brings overwhelming challenges for many families served by the San Diego Regional Center (SDRC). These families frequently face difficult choices, such as prioritizing basic needs over holiday celebrations, casting a shadow over what should be a festive season.

Introducing the Season of Sharing program, a heartwarming initiative by the Foundation for Developmental Disabilities (FDD). Beyond providing gift cards of up to $200 to qualified SDRC clients, this program aims to bring joy and warmth to families enduring severe financial hardships during the holidays. Your support for this initiative can significantly impact their lives, helping them experience the season’s true spirit. Your contribution, no matter the amount, is a vital part of this impactful program.

The need for donations and sponsorships is more significant than ever. Each year, more families find themselves in challenging situations, requiring additional support to make the holidays special. In the past year alone, SDRC reported an increase of 4,000 clients. The gift cards provided through the Season of Sharing program can significantly impact these families’ lives, but this is only achievable with the community’s help. Your donation, no matter the amount, can ensure that a family struggling with financial hardship can still enjoy the warmth and joy of the holiday season. Let’s not let these families face another holiday season without the joy they deserve. The time to act is now.

Through the Season of Sharing Fundraiser, the Foundation invites the community to extend their generosity and support. The success of this program, which aims to spread holiday cheer to SDRC clients, relies heavily on the generosity of community partners, sponsors, and supporters like you. Your contributions are not just appreciated; they are crucial to its success. The Foundation remains profoundly grateful for your continued support.

In 2023, the Foundation’s fundraising efforts were a resounding success, raising nearly $20,000 through donations and sponsorships. This support provided essential help to approximately 135 families served by the San Diego Regional Center (SDRC). Building on this success and recognizing the increasing needs of SDRC’s expanding client base, the Foundation has set an ambitious goal for 2024, aiming to raise $30,000 through enhanced fundraising efforts and continued community support. With your help, we can make this goal a reality.

Additionally, sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses and organizations wishing to make a substantial impact. Sponsoring the Season of Sharing program supports SDRC families and demonstrates a commitment to the community’s well-being. Sponsorship can also offer positive visibility for your organization, showing your dedication to helping those in need during the holidays. If you are interested in sponsorship opportunities or need more information, please get in touch with Jill Weber, FDD Development and Marketing Manager, at (858) 256-2220.

As the holidays approach, we urge you to consider donating to the Foundation for Developmental Disabilities’ Season of Sharing program. Your support and generosity can transform the holiday season for many families in need, ensuring that the true spirit of the holidays – family, sharing, and joy – touches everyone in our community. Together, we can ensure that every family can create joyful holiday memories, regardless of their circumstances.

Your generosity can make a difference for a family in need this holiday season.
