Promises2Kids is dedicated to their mission of creating a brighter future for foster children. From the moment they come into foster care and through to adulthood, Promises2Kids provides the hope, support and opportunities foster children need to change their lives for the better… now and for years to come. Promises2Kids’ programs include: Camp Connect, Guardian Scholars, Foster Funds, Children’s Mentoring, and the A.B. and Jessie Polinsky Children’s Center. Mark Wills serves as a Board Member for Promises2Kids.
#1 This story has a bunch of curves, but the short version is I was born in South Korea then adopted at 2 years of age, bounced around to different foster families, then ended up in Northern California where I lived from 7 years old through High School.
#2 To decompress, I have been playing golf and doing a lot of self-care recently like acupuncture and meditation.

#7 Traveling is our favorite thing to do – from New Zealand when our son was 9 weeks old to Havana, Costa Rica, Switzerland, Africa – we love going anywhere new! Madagascar is on the top of my son’s list of places to visit. I would like to go to Korea – I have not been back there since I was adopted from the orphanage at 2 years old.
#8 The foster community helped raise me. It created resilience in me, and I feel compelled and necessary to help foster kids understand that being a foster kid is part of who they are, not WHO they are.
#9 I choose to support Promises2Kids because they are the most predominant foster nonprofit in San Diego, and they have the most direct impact on foster youth at the ground level.
#10 ‘Tis the season to brighten the lives of foster children! This holiday season, Promises2Kids will hold our annual Give From Your Heart Holiday Gift Drive, presented by Carmel Mountain Preschool.
