Inspiring Others
Vahid Moradi, president of CJ Charles Jewelers in La Jolla, is a great force of influence in the community. Throughout the years, he has been contributing to the San Diego community through charities which raise funds for research and awareness of various causes. Today, much of his attention is drawn to cancer research. According to Vahid, “the desire to heal is what all humans look to harness from the time we are born. Whether it is healing a relationship, healing ourselves, or to help someone with a disease achieve healing.” Compassion is his drive to go above and beyond.
“A fairly recent obsession of mine is the Miracle Babies Charity — the name says it all. I feel we can make a difference in one family’s life, in creating life that is a spectacular thing,” Vahid tells Giving Back MAgazine San Diego. He recently donated two timepieces to the Miracle Babies Gala, a Breitling and a Panerai. The Panerai, a PAM00024, comes from a very special place in his heart because it is his own personal watch that he has worn with love. “Panerai is a brand which I have collected over the past 17 years. From my collection of Panerai, this piece has meant so much to me and I hope the next owner will cherish it, and perhaps one day passing it down to their son or daughter.” As a parent, Vahid is especially proud to see that his son has inherited his enthusiasm for charitable causes. His son, Ali, chooses to help those less fortunate.
Dorthea Brande once said, “Act boldly and unforeseen forces will come to your aid.” This is a quote which has served Vahid throughout his life. He says, “The fear of not changing keeps me going; Basically the changes we make are the changes we leave.” Vahid challenges those around him to get involved and create change. “Any level of help is a huge help,” he emphasizes, “no contribution is ever too small”. He looks forward to continuing his philanthropy and inspiring others. As he does every Holiday Season, a portion of the proceeds from purchases made at CJ Charles Jewelers are donated to the Moore’s Cancer Center in La Jolla.
