Promises 2 Kids Reunites Family Members

Eddy (11) and his twin siblings Eve and Erik (15) entered foster care in 2015 due to severe neglect. They have been living apart since 2017, so seeing each other monthly through Camp Connect has been their saving grace. Each opportunity gives them the chance to catch up, spend quality time together, and create new and lasting memories.

Promises2Kids is dedicated to creating a brighter future for foster children, offering programs that ensure youth have the skills, opportunities, and resources to succeed. From the moment they enter care through adulthood, Promises2Kids provides the necessary support system.

There are over 3,000 current and former foster youth in San Diego County who have been removed from their homes due to abuse and neglect. Many live apart from their siblings. Promises2Kids’ Camp Connect reunites brothers and sisters through monthly visits, group outings and a summer camp.

20 youth recently attended a Padres baseball game. Watching a live game was a first for most of them. Siblings were all smiles as they enjoyed an afternoon of fun in the sun, wearing matching hats and enjoying hot dogs, pretzels and more.

For Eddy, Eve and Erik, the positive change in their mood was evident when they saw each other relishing every moment at their first game together. As a huge baseball and Fernando Tatis Jr. fan, Eddy was incredibly grateful for this experience with his siblings.

On September 12, Promises2Kids will host its Dream On Concert Gala, presented by Kevin and Raegan Prior, at the La Jolla estate home of Joan Waitt. Over 500 philanthropists, community and business leaders dedicated to making a difference in the lives of foster children will gather to enjoy an elegant dinner followed by a private concert with a internationally recognized recording artist.

Funds raised will benefit foster youth like Eddy, Eve, and Erik. For tickets, tables and sponsorship opportunities, please visit www.Promises2Kids.org.
