The Memorial’s hallmark ceremonies, Memorial Day and Veterans Day, draw nearly a thousand people each year from across San Diego County and beyond. These free events feature thoughtfully crafted programs that include military salutes, stirring music, inspiring words, and dramatic flyovers – all celebrating courage, sacrifice, and dedication to duty.
Beyond these major commemorations, the Memorial hosts a variety of significant observances. Each March, Women’s History Month is marked with the Annual Women’s History Tribute & Brunch, recognizing the extraordinary courage and impact of women who serve. The Memorial also collaborates with organizations to support Veterans and their families, hosting events such as the Injured Warrior Appreciation Ride, the National Carry the Load Relay, and the Honor Wings kick-off to the Run for the Wall motorcycle ride, to name a few.
The Memorial further provides a deeply personal way to honor individual Veterans through its plaque program. Following a plaque’s installation, families and friends are invited to hold a gathering at the Memorial, allowing for intimate recognition, reflection, and celebration of their loved one’s service.
