“If you do what you always did, you’ll get what you always got.”
Curebound is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, born out of the Padres Pedal the Cause. Curebound’s mission is to accelerate cures for cancer by funding collaborative research and clinical trials among San Diego’s top cancer research and treatment centers. Cancer is the #1 cause of death in San Diego and #2 cause of death in the United States. 1-in-3 of us will be diagnosed with cancer in our lifetime. With cancer diagnoses more prevalent than ever, the need for private funding is critical. Curebound’s CEO, Anne Marbarger, will build on the foundation established by Padres Pedal the Cause to help accelerate the development of sophisticated, individualized cancer treatments.
#1 I grew up St. Louis, Missouri.
#2 My family and I have just moved into our dream home in a neighborhood close to schools, friends, and downtown.
#3 In my role with Curebound, there is really nowhere else in the world you can find a perfect mix of cancer research power, clinical care capability and biotech industry that are all aligned in such close proximity. San Diego provides Curebound an unrivaled Foundation for our investment model of collaborative cancer research. The potential for discovery is unlimited – it makes my work at Curebound incredibly meaningful and rewarding.
#4 When I get a vacation from all I love in San Diego, Montana wilderness is the place that recharges my soul.
#5 I played professional soccer in Iceland after college.
#6 I have an 8 ½ year old rescue dog named, Crosby.
#7 Cancer affects us all: every person, every family, every community. Through our work at Curebound, we will invest $100 M towards collaborative cancer research to find the new and better therapies to help those facing a cancer diagnosis.
#8 As part of our commitment to patients, we will not stop investing in discovery of new therapies.
#9 During COVID, Immunotherapy Foundation and Padres Pedal the Cause collaborated on a fundraising event in support of World Without Cancer. This event raised awareness for our shared belief that cures for cancer are possible through the power of philanthropy.
#10 Immunotherapy Foundation’s Rock and Roll Avalanche presented by Curebound is scheduled for Fall 2022. With past artists like the Rolling Stones, Don Felder, Aloe Blac and Billy Idol, you can be sure that the 2022 headline act will be a must-see event. The event will support collaborative cancer research providing funds to Rady Children’s Hospital, The Salk Institute, Sanford Burnham Prebys and Moores Cancer Center at University California at San Diego.
