On Saturday, September 19, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego will host its 13th Annual An Evening of Changing Lives gala at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina, an inspiring evening that brings the community together to invest in the power and potential of San Diego youth. This year’s theme, There’s No Place Like the Club, sets the stage for a night filled with heart, hope, and meaningful impact for thousands of kids across the region.

Guests will take part in an unforgettable experience featuring high-energy live entertainment by Atomic Groove, along with a dynamic silent and live auction offering meaningful ways to give back. From the moment the evening begins, every detail is designed to inspire generosity and connection, but what truly sets the event apart is the difference it creates for the young people served each day.

At Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego, the Club is more than just a place, it is a second home. It is where kids are welcomed, supported, and encouraged to be their best selves. It is where a tough day can turn around, where new interests are discovered, and where friendships and confidence begin to grow. For many families, especially those facing financial hardship, the Club opens doors to opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach.

Because of the support of generous donors and partners, the organization serves more than 22,000 youth each year across 22 locations throughout San Diego County, delivering programs that promote academic success, healthy lifestyles, and strong character. These are not just activities; they are experiences that change lives.

Funds raised during An Evening of Changing Lives ensure that every child who walks through the doors has access to the resources they need to succeed. From homework help and literacy programs to STEM exploration, sports, and leadership development, the Club meets kids where they are and helps them realize where they can go.

In the past year alone, donor support made it possible to provide $518,007 in scholarship assistance and 422,910 nutritious meals and snacks. For working families, that support means more than convenience, it means peace of mind, knowing their children are safe and thriving during the hours that matter most.

And the impact goes far beyond the numbers. It lives in the member who discovers a love for learning, the child who finds their voice, and the teen who begins to see a future full of possibility. That is the power of this night.

On September 19, guests are not simply attending a gala, they are helping create opportunities, open doors, and change lives. Every sponsorship, ticket, auction bid, and donation directly supports the programs that make the Club a place where kids can dream bigger, feel supported, and reach their full potential.

Because for the youth served, there truly is no place like the Club.
