The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa

Share

The Historic Icon of Inland Southern California

Originally built as a two-story adobe guesthouse in 1876, The Mission Inn Hotel & Spa was the vision of a citrus tycoon in a time when Riverside was the wealthiest city in the United States. The owner travelled the world to bring home art and architectural elements and over time, the property grew to an entire city block. Today, Owners Duane and Kelly Roth have sustained the timeless beauty and old-world charm in the 238 guest rooms amongst 320,000 square feet.

As we  toured the enchanting hotel, we could feel the history all around us; eight Presidents have stayed including Taft, Hoover, Kennedy, Nixon and Reagan (both had their weddings there), as well as Bob Hope,  Amelia Earhart, Cary Grant, Albert Einstein… the list goes on. In an intimate setting, we enjoyed historically inspired cocktails in the Presidential Lounge, originally built in 1902.

Our experience at the Mission Inn was unforgettable as we wandered the narrow streets of a quaint European-Inspired village, visiting a Chapel with original Tiffany stained glass windows and dining in the middle of the Inn al fresco in the Spanish Patio under a 1700’s clock tower. This romantic getaway was only an hour and a half away from downtown San Diego. The Inland Empire’s only AAA Four Diamond resort also counts on the award winning Casey’s Cupcakes; a fun flirty boutique bakery where we enjoyed various delicious flavors. Pampering and serenity awaited us at Kelly’s Spa, listed on Condé Nast’s 2014 Top 10 Spa list! Owner Kelly Roth, the visionary behind the Tuscan healing and rejuvenation spa, personally brought in the best spa treatments from around the world.

As our weekend stay came to a delicious end, we enjoyed old Hollywood glamour at the Award Winning Duane’s Prime Steaks & Seafood. Relaxing amongst historic paintings and exposed wooden beams, our steak and seafood was paired with the finest wines and deserts made with the freshest ingredients.

The Mission Inn offers a romantic getaway, an inspirational setting for business, an unforgettable family vacation, or the perfect quiet escape, making this a perfect ESCAPADITA.
