The Mirage, Las Vegas

Share

The Mirage, the hotel that introduced the concept of a destination resort to the Las Vegas Strip in 1989, has undergone a stunning transformation and has completely revolutionized itself. We recently visited and were amazed by the changes and additions to this classic property at the heart of the Strip. The hotel counts on 3,044 guest rooms including 281 suites, 14 restaurants, 10 bars, lounges and nightclubs as well as spa, shops and live shows to satisfy all your desires.

The entertainment spotlight of the hotel (and the Strip) is on The Beatles LOVE by Cirque du Soleil. A seamless integration of technology, music and theatrical experience, LOVE is a magically mysterious interpretation of the lives and times that surrounded the Beatles. The scenes are inhabited by real and imaginary people in extravagant costumes performing aerial acrobats and dance. By no means a tribute show, this is an entirely reinterpretation of the original musical recording with a theatrical presentation that lets you experience the music of the best love band of all time.

Whether before or after the show the dining options are as varied as they are spectacular. Among them you will find the elegant and sublime Japonais, the marriage of modern day Japan with old-style European elegance with a Las Vegas flair.  The restaurant’s distinctive approach to progressive Japanese cuisine seamlessly fuses innovative presentations, flavors and ingredient pairings within each selection. A more casual dining experience can be had at BLT Burger whose hip and casual setting belies the excellence and creativity of their interpretations on American classics: burgers, shakes and fries with only the best ingredients, variations and flavors.

A truly unexpected surprise on the Las Vegas Strip, on the grounds of the Mirage you will find Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat, built both for educational programs and public enjoyment. The Secret Garden is home to White Lions, Royal White Tigers, and other large cats. Through the Secret Garden, Siegfried and Roy seek to increase public awareness of the plight of all endangered animals and to foster dialogue about the world’s rarest breeds. The Dolphin Habitat serves as home for a family of bottlenose dolphins. Guests enjoy watching the mammals as they frolic in the water as well as participating in guided VIP tours and The Trainer for a Day program; all unforgettable experiences.

With so many options for dining, entertainment and nightlife, there is no need to leave the Mirage during your entire trip, making this a perfect ESCAPADITA.
