A commemoration of Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, brought together families and survivors to honor the six million Jews who were murdered during the Holocaust. Over the weekend, more than 300 members of our community attended the Yom HaShoah program, which honored 70 years of Survivors in San Diego. This program featured Survivors and their descendants participating in the commemoration by lighting candles, reciting memorial prayers, and talking about the new lives that Survivors in San Diego created. Among those in attendance were David Lubek, Barbara Ostroff, Nina Brodsky, Kira Finkenberg, Darren Schwartz, Marissa Moshkovitz, Joey Schindler, whose presence honored the memory of the victims and celebrated the enduring legacy of the Survivors.
