National University Gala Supports Students and Military Success

Share

For many National University students, earning a degree requires extraordinary determination. Known as ANDers™, they are individuals who pursue higher education while balancing careers, military service, family responsibilities, and the unexpected challenges life can bring. Behind every ANDer is a story of perseverance – and a community of supporters who believe their ambitions deserve every opportunity to succeed.

Each year, the National University Foundation Gala brings that community together. The evening celebrates resilience while raising critical resources that help students continue their education when obstacles arise.

The impact of last year’s support was felt across the university. Thanks to donor support, more than 160 military and veteran students were able to continue their studies without interruption, ensuring their progress toward a degree remained on track.

Gala contributions also helped expand access to education through needs-based scholarships. More than 1,500 ANDers™ were able to begin or continue their academic journeys at National University, moving closer to careers that will strengthen their families and communities.

Support also made it possible for more than 50 Sanford College of Education students – many of them military spouses – to continue their teaching credential programs following permanent change of station moves that often disrupt education and employment.

At the same time, resources helped expand the Military and Veteran Food Pantry, providing groceries and essential items to hundreds of students and families when they needed support the most.

The National University Foundation invites the community to continue this momentum at the 2026 Foundation Gala on October 2 aboard the USS Midway. Tickets are now available at foundation.nu.edu, where supporters can join in celebrating the achievements of National University’s ANDers™ and help ensure even more students can reach their educational goals.
