Mission Fed: Strengthening San Diego Communities

Share

Community is Everything

Mission Federal Credit Union is as much about San Diego as fish tacos, over-the-line, the world’s greatest zoo, and gray skies that burn off by noon (or so). We’re not just in San Diego. We’re part of San Diego. We are deeply connected to – and passionately embedded in – the neighborhoods of San Diego. You can sum up what we do in four words: we serve our community. That hasn’t changed since 1961, when we began as a single desk in a school district to serve the financial needs of teachers.

Our belief in giving back lives on through partnerships with schools and over 200 nonprofit organizations directly committed to a stronger, vibrant, resilient and HEALTHIER San Diego County. Partners like the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank and their Food 4 Kids Backpack Program, a vital lifeline that serves over 3,000 elementary school students living in poverty who receive free meals at school, but face hunger at home over the weekend when free school meals are unavailable. Over the last three years, collaborative efforts on behalf of our members and staff have led to over $68,000 in funds which continue to be used to help break the cycle of poverty.

We are here to enrich the lives of San Diegans and strengthen the communities we all share. To learn more about the many ways we proudly give back and what we are achieving together, visit www.MissionFed.com/community
