Mexico’s Wine Country

Share

In the heart of Baja California is a quaint village – Valle de Guadalupe. This village is in a valley that offers the ideal Mediterranean climate perfect for growing grapes and over the years, it has become the heart of Mexico’s wine country.

Recently, this quiet valley has become the Napa Valley of the south complete with wineries, boutique hotels and restaurants. At only an hour drive from San Diego, those who are not in the know might miss out entirely, but the swanky hotels, the secret wine caves and exquisite restaurants are a destination waiting to be discovered.

Every year in August, the Fiestas de la Vendimia celebrates the grape harvest with a series of events including concerts, parties and samplings of regional Mexican cuisine and wines. The perfect combination of rustic luxury and modern amenities makes Valle de Guadalupe and the Fiestas de Vendimia a not to miss event.
