La Jolla Cosmetic Leads By Example

Share

You might say La Jolla Cosmetic Surgery Centre & Medical Spa has philanthropy in its DNA. This month, San Diego’s most awarded cosmetic practice celebrates 34 years of helping make dreams become real both for their patients and for charities serving the community. Founded in 1988, the charitable giving and community involvement by La Jolla Cosmetic (LJC) has been remarkable. Here are three important charities LJC’s supports: Las Patronas, Promises2Kids and Humble Design San Diego.

LAS PATRONAS
For over 75 years, Las Patronas has been helping charitable institutions throughout San Diego County. They have donated over $25M to more than 1,000 different charitable organizations. Beneficiaries are chosen and evaluated based on their strength of mission, service to the people of San Diego, breadth of influence in the community and fiscal responsibility. Las Patronas volunteers support nonprofit organizations covering a wide variety of services, including health, education, cultural arts and social services. The wife of the doctors at the practice, Dr. Salazar, Ingrid, serves as Vice President. LJC retired surgeon, Dr. Erv Wheeler’s wife, Laura, is a sustaining member. For more than thirty years, LJC has supported Las Patronas with a combination of donations, guest gifts and program advertising. LJC is once again proud to be a sponsor of the 2022 Jewel Ball, the premier fundraising event for Las Patronas.

PROMISES2KIDS
La Jolla Cosmetic is proud to partner with Promises2Kids, a remarkable organization celebrating its 40th anniversary. Promises2Kids serves the needs of San Diego foster children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse and neglect. Each year, the organization helps over 3,000 current and former San Diego County foster youth and creates a brighter future for foster children in San Diego County. From the moment they come into foster care and through to adulthood, Promises2Kids provides the hope, support and opportunities these individuals need to change their lives for the better… now and for years to come. LJC is a sponsor of the annual Dream On Concert Gala, a major fund-raising event to underwrite important programs.

HUMBLE DESIGN
Since Humble Design opened its San Diego Chapter, LJC has been a passionate supporter. Humble Design is a nonprofit interior design company serving families and veterans emerging from homelessness whose volunteers provide a new beginning by transforming an empty house or apartment into a home – a very simple idea that can change a family’s future. Humble Design turns dwellings into dignified and welcoming homes. Less than 1% of their recipients return to homelessness. They describe their mission as “not just furnishing homes, we are furnishing hope.” LJC has underwritten multiple home transformations and fund-raising events since the chapter was founded in 2019.

La Jolla Cosmetic’s medical team and support staff remain committed to making dreams become a reality for today and the next generation. For more information on their history of giving, visit www.ljcsc.com/about/giving-back.
