Looking to add a trip to Ireland to your 2024 bucket list? We decided to travel at our own pace by renting a car and setting out to explore the Southern Island of Ireland. We have compiled a list of the most beautiful places we recommend you visit in the enchanting island of Ireland.

List of places recommended while visiting Island of Ireland

Dublin:

the capital of the Republic of Ireland and home to Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, Trinity College, Dublin Castle, many green spaces – including Europe’s largest city park. Dublin is home to over 750 pubs, including The “Oldest Pub in Ireland” called the Brazen Head.

County Clare

Cliffs of Moher – Stunning views, rugged cliffs, and the untamed beauty dropping into the heaving Atlantic Ocean making it one of Ireland’s most spectacular sights. There are no admission fees and the walk along the cliffs offers the Atlantic winds blowing in off the ocean and the most breathtaking scenery in Ireland.

Killarney

A vibrant town with a location right beside the 26,000-acre UNESCO Killarney National Park. The national Park is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, and where you will see Ireland’s only wild herd of native red deer in the woodlands and known for the ultimate location for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts.

Cork

Rock of Cashel is archaeological sites set on a hill and home to over 1,000 years of history. Originally the seat of the kings of Munster, most buildings on the current site date from the 12th and 13th centuries and it played a part in founding Guinness beer.

Eat:

From hearty comfort food to Irish breakfasts to food made up of Guinness beer in more forms than you might have thought possible, there’s no shortage of delicious options when deciding what to eat in Ireland.

Irish Breakfast-

Fried eggs, rashers, sausage, black and white pudding, a fried tomato, and toast.
Guinness Beef Stew- Beef stew meat, potatoes, and carrots, along with herbs and, to top it off Guinness beer making it a flavorful dish.


Bangers & Mash-

Lean and fat pork mixed with onions that is then encased with gravy and with a touch of stout beer like Guinness.


Fish and Chips-

the classic fried fish & chips are a classic from the British Isles.


Shepherd’s Pie-

Ground beef, or lamb, with mushrooms, onion, corn, peas, and carrots cooked in a delicious gravy sauce that is topped with a mashed potato crust that is baked in the oven.
