Mainly Mozart hosted three extraordinary nights celebrating innovation and “Genius in the Spirit of Mozart” within San Diego with world premieres of Mainly Mozart commissions. They kicked off the celebrations with a private dinner honoring 2023 San Diego Genius honoree, Dr. David Brenner with a performance by Mainly Mozart artists Clarice Assad and Anne-Marie McDermott at The Conrad in La Jolla. Dr. Brenner is the 7th winner of the award first established in 2015 to recognize individuals who have established “a legacy of innovation and genius” within San Diego.

The evening welcomed distinguished guests including Alexander Khalessi, Susan Tousi, Reena Horowitz, Doug Matheson, Paul Dostart, Melissa Seipel, Martha Dennis, Nancy Laturno, Arlene Esgate, Dan Epstein, Phyllis Epstein, Diana Lombrozo, Doreen Schobrun, Eli Lombrozo, Jo Ann Kilty, Joyce Dostart, and Ronald Heller, who joined in celebrating this remarkable occasion.

Esteban Villanueva
Esteban Villanueva was born in Washington D.C. and raised in La Jolla. He attended both Francis Parker and The Bishop’s School locally before going to Dartmouth College where he received his B.S. in Biology and Pepperdine School of Law where he received his J.D. focusing Entertainment Law. He worked in the Latin music industry where his projects went on to win 14 Grammy Awards for artists including Ricky Martin and Carlos Santana. After starting GB Magazine with Danitza Villanueva in 2007, he has gone on to win awards and recognition from the community for his support of helping raise millions of dollars for non-profit organizations. He currently sits on the Board of Directors for the San Diego Air & Space Museum and resides in East County in San Diego where he and his wife Danitza run DAESVI Publishing, home to GB Magazine, among several other publications.
