Wyoming is home to endless views, open skies, rodeos, national treasures and scenic hiking trails. The State of Wyoming is also home to one of the best nature and wildlife destinations in the world: Yellowstone National Park.
Within Yellowstone’s 2.2 million acres, we had many opportunities to observe wildlife such as bison, elk, and bear, explore geothermal areas that contain about half the world’s active geysers, including Old Faithful, which currently erupts around various times a day with an average height of between 130 and 140 feet!
To continue our western adventures, we joined in the fun at a timeless tradition since 1919, the Cody Night Rodeo. Known as the rodeo capital of the world, the Cody Night Rodeo is held every night of the summer complete with bull riding, barrel racing and team roping. The Cody Nite Rodeo performance is known as “Best Large Outdoor Rodeo of the Year.” We loved every moment of the wild, western, family-friendly action. We arrived early and met the cowboys and bull riders as well as had our picture taken on Norman, a 2,000-pound Brahma bull!
The stunning landscape of Wyoming’s mountain ranges, the rodeo capital of the world, great food, inviting locals and endless public land to hike with creeks and rivers, and plenty of places to stargaze make Wyoming a perfect ESCAPADITA.
