The Next Generation

In México up until recently, dermatology was traditionally dominated by men, but in recent years a new generation of motivated and intelligent women have begun to study in this field of medicine. This new generation is exemplified by Board Certified Dr. Priscilla Ibarra who combines intelligence with dedication. From a young age, Priscilla knew she wanted to be a dermatologist just like her father, Dr. Jorge Alberto Ibarra.

Priscilla attended high school at Our Lady of Peace in San Diego and directly to medical school at the University of Baja California. Her passion for dermatology led her to practice at the Dermatology Institute of Jalisco. Dr. Ibarra continued her studies with a one-year fellowship of dermatologic surgery on skin cancer followed by cosmetic dermatology in Argentina and later dermatologic laser surgery in Spain.

Dr. Priscilla Ibarra is now a renowned dermatologist with a private practice in Tijuana and Mexicali. Recognized for her expertise in cosmetic dermatology, Dr. Ibarra is always up to date with the latest in skincare, clinical updates and rising trends.

Her passion for learning has helped transform the lives of many. “I enjoy teaching medical students about dermatology and having them learn by applying their skills at different orphanages and retirement homes in Tijuana,” she tells Giving Back Magazine.

Dr. Ibarra is a role model for women who may not have known that a career in medicine was available to them. Giving Back Magazine applauds Dr. Priscilla Ibarra on her success and positive impact on her peers and other women in the community.
