Comic-Con Museum invites visitors to an all-encompassing journey into the world of comics and popular arts history and animation excitement. Three exhibits are open now that you won’t want to miss: “The Animation Academy – from Pencils to Pixels” exhibit transports visitors into the world of animation with over 20 interactive stations for visitors to create stories of their own. As you wander upstairs, the “Cover Story: Five Decades of Comic-Con” exhibit showcases 50 years’ worth of Comic-Con through Souvenir Book cover art from some of the most popular comic book artists. A fan favorite to explore afterward, the “PAC-MAN Arcade” exhibit offers a snapshot back in time to the iconic arcade days, providing endless memorabilia and free games.
Legendary Creations
Comic-Con Museum also celebrates the amazing legends who brought many fandoms to life. The “Excelsior! The Life and Legacy of Stan Lee” exhibit, its world premiere, celebrates Stan Lee’s 100th birthday year, his rich storytelling, acclaimed comic books and beloved characters. The “Cowboy Bebop 25th Anniversary Art Exhibition” captivates audiences with diverse interpretations of the iconic anime. A huge presence, the “My Hero Academia Installation” greets visitors with an iconic statue of “Historical Battle in Kamino,” showcasing true artistry and fandom excitement.
Future Exhibits Exploring the Future
Debuting October 4, the new “POPnology” exhibit encourages visitors to wonder about the connection between the science fiction of today and the reality of tomorrow by illuminating emerging technologies influenced by books, movies and more. Also, the upcoming “Colleen Doran Illustrates Neil Gaiman” exhibit explores Doran’s original artwork for her adaptions of stories by Neil Gaiman including Chivalry, Snow, Glass, Apples, The Sandman, Troll Bridge, American Gods, Norse Mythology, and Good Omens.
