The First Lady of Tijuana is giving back and making changes for the community.

DIF is a social assistance organization whose objective is to develop assistance programs for the betterment of the quality of life for the less fortunate families of Tijuana. Now that DIF has the First Lady of Tijuana Carolina Bustamante de Garcia as the president; more actions are being taken to promote family development across Community Centers where individuals learn a new trade to improve their source of income.

They receive classes in sewing, beauty, make-up, as well as take part in physical activity such as aerobics, jazz, karate, etc. The President of DIF also recognizes that the services are improving but the hardest challenge is the vulnerability of the innocent children who are or can be victims of trafficking. For this reason, in May a campaign was launched in Tijuana to create awareness and prevent human trafficking educating families and teachers. Carolina commented to Giving Back, “We are convinced that ignorance contributes to this situation occurring especially among women, adolescents and children.”Unfortunately DIF does not count with the financial resources to cover all expenses and for that same reason they are always happy to receive donations.
