An Evening of Changing Lives

For more than 75 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego (BGCGSD) has had a distinguished history as a youth non-profit organization in San Diego County. Established in Logan Heights in 1941, the Boys Club of San Diego was the first Boys Club built in San Diego County. Since then, the agency has grown to include 19 sites and is the second largest Boys & Girls Club agency in California, covering almost 45% of San Diego County. Their mission is to inspire and enable youth to achieve academic success, build good character and responsible citizenship and make healthy lifestyle choices.

Their three priority outcomes – academic excellence, healthy lifestyles and character development – help create a positive and lasting impact on thousands of youth ages 5-18 through the wide variety of enrichment programs, activities and services offered. In 2018, they provided 11,962 youth members with after-school programming, overall serving 27,261 youth throughout the county.

Through after school programs and day camps, BGCGSD seeks to promote the social, emotional, mental and physical development of boys and girls during critical periods of their growth. They offer youth what they need and want most – adults who respect and listen, a safe environment where they can have fun and interesting, constructive activities.

To support their mission, BGCGSD invites you to Change Lives and invest in the future of San Diego’s youth with their signature fundraising event, An Evening of Changing Lives. Each year nearly 800 Club supporters and community members gather for an amazing night that raises critical funds to support the Club’s programs and mission to provide San Diego children with a positive, fun and safe environment.

An Evening of Changing Lives will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina – Grand Ballroom. Enjoy a spectacular night of live entertainment and community outreach along San Diego’s waterfront and historic Gaslamp Quarter. Ticket price includes cocktails, a three-course dinner and a live performance by THE FAB FOURThe Ultimate Beatles Tribute Band! “Our signature event is truly one of a kind,” Matt Frazier, BGCGSD’s Event Chair shared with GB Magazine. “It is a great feeling to know all of our hard work directly translates into life changing moments for the kids we serve.”
