30th Annual Holiday Golf Tournament

For 30 years, the Arc San Diego Foundation has presented the Holiday Golf Tournament. This event has been instrumental to The Arc of San Diego’s success, raising millions of dollars to benefit children and adults with disabilities receiving services from The Arc of San Diego.

The tournament was founded in 1993 by Linda and Jon Kurtin, who had the idea to host a golf tournament when they learned many clients did not receive any holiday gifts. They rallied their family, friends, and fellow golf enthusiasts to raise funds, brightening the holiday season for clients at The Arc of San Diego. We are proud to honor The Kurtin Family as we celebrate our 30th Annual Holiday Golf Tournament.

This year, the 30th Annual Holiday Golf Tournament will take place Monday, December 12th at The Santaluz Club. Players will enjoy 18 holes of golf on the 300-acre Santaluz Golf Course, a championship course filled with scenic vistas and panoramic views.

Registration begins at 8:30 am with a breakfast for golfers to enjoy before the shotgun start. All players receive a barbeque lunch and a swag bag with Arc-branded goodies. Immediately following the tournament is an awards reception where the winning team is announced. The reception includes drinks, hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction.

The Tournament Chair is Tim Himstreet, Board Member of the Arc San Diego Foundation and Committee includes Philip Curtis, Susie Friedman, Paul La Bounty, Rebekah May, Jim Mulvaney and Rachelle Tubongbanua.

Proceeds from the Holiday Golf Tournament will directly benefit clients receiving services from The Arc of San Diego. Funds raised will contribute to holiday gifts for clients, funding for wheelchair accessible vans, and support for Our Place, The Arc of San Diego’s wellness program that provides adaptive yoga, fitness, nutrition and wellness classes.
As one of the largest, most comprehensive service providers for people with disabilities in the region, The Arc of San Diego annually serves 2,000 children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities such as autism, cerebral palsy and Down syndrome throughout San Diego County.

Programs offered by The Arc of San Diego range from Early Intervention Services for toddlers, to Independent Living Services for Adults, to Senior Programs. The Arc of San Diego’s dedicated support staff works with each individual to identify their personal goals and help them reach their maximum potential.
