Building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
The American Heart Association San Diego Division is excited to announce that Debbie Turner will chair the 2015 San Diego Go Red For Women Luncheon, which will be held February 27th at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina. At the luncheon, they will honor the 2015 Legendary Women of the Heart: Ronne Froman Blue, Karen Cohn, Gaby Sulpizio, Sally Thornton and Dixie Unruh. Each of these women has helped create a more heart healthy San Diego.
More than 41 million American women are living with one or more types of cardiovascular disease, yet only one in five view heart disease as their greatest health threat. Heart disease is still the number one killer of women in the United States.
The Go Red For Women campaign is a national movement to raise awareness of heart disease and stroke in women. Go Red For Women has been impacting the health of women for over 10 years. The local campaign is sponsored by UC San Diego Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center and kicks off on February 5th with the Official National Wear Red Day Lighting Ceremony at the Center and is open to the public.
