#1 Hanna Jensen grew up in San Clemente, California. My older brother Ryan has impacted my life by setting the bar high when it comes to achieving success, pushing me to aim higher while reminding me not to take life too seriously. He has always been there – through every celebration and every tough moment – showing me the meaning of support, balance, and resilience.

#2 Favorite Travel Destination: Maui. I would also like to visit Ireland.

#3 Hobbies: Cheering on my favorite sports team and shopping.

#6 Hanna Jensen have a dog named Kobe Bean Bryant Jensen.

#7 Bucket List: Final Four March Madness Tournament, GO AZTECS! I have a pretty decent free-throw, lots of hours spent on the court growing up.

#8 Giving back has always been rooted in people for me – nurturing relationships, showing care, and creating space for others to thrive. I find purpose in learning from those around me and supporting them in reaching their full potential.

#9 We always talk to our students about the power of social capital – my professional network is what brought me to Junior Achievement and the mission is what sold me – empowering young people to see what is possible for their futures is something that I will always want to be a part of!

#10 JA San Diego is hosting their annual San Diego Business Hall of Fame on October 24, 2025 to induct the class of Lifetime Laureates, recognizing four local leaders who embody business and philanthropic excellence, and serve as role models for our youth.

My love and appreciation for nonprofit work began in college when I was selected to represent UCLA’s undergraduate service organization. As a student, I didn’t have a lot of money to donate but I quickly learned that I could make an impact by giving my time. All you have to do to make a difference in someone’s life is care. For the last 30 years, San Diego has been my home. During this time, I have served on over 17 boards and chaired 27 fundraisers. No matter how much work I do with nonprofits, I am always amazed at the number of awesome causes and dedicated supporters out there. San Diego definitely has the best weather in the world but what makes San Diego America’s finest city are the people. I feel incredibly lucky and blessed to live in a city that has so many kind and selfless souls who genuinely care about making our community a better place for everyone. As Giving Back Magazine’s Philanthropy Editor, each week, I feature a hero and the causes that are creating a positive difference in our world. Always remember that philanthropy is about more than giving money, it’s about caring enough to help others who are in pain. So, go out there and make every moment count!
