Lukasz Swistun, M.D. Joins La Jolla Cosmetic

La Jolla Cosmetic, one of San Diego’s most prestigious and awarded aesthetic practices, welcomes Lukasz (Luke) Swistun, MD, a board-certified plastic surgeon, to its esteemed team. Dr. Swistun combines a rich visual arts background with years of multi-specialty surgical experience. Dr. Swistun is returning to San Diego from Beverly Hills where he joined Dr. William Rahal at Verona Plastic Surgery after completing an Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Fellowship with Beverly Hills Physicians.
“Dr. Swistun’s dedication to meeting the specific needs and desires of each patient has proved integral to his success. He takes a special interest in a patient’s lifetime goals,” Marie Olesen, CEO of La Jolla Cosmetic shared with GB Magazine. “His artistry comes into play surgically with his ability to produce natural and beautiful results.”
He and his wife Dominika, a PhD psychologist, were born in Poland and came to the US in their teens. They have three children. “The standard I abide by is ‘What would I do if this were my wife? My son?’ And then the answer becomes simple,” said Dr. Swistun.
Dr. Swistun has long admired La Jolla Cosmetic saying La Jolla is the Beverly Hills of San Diego. He and his family set the goal to return to San Diego where they lived while he served as a naval medical officer and deployed with the U.S. Marines. Following active duty, Dr. Swistun returned to Southern California in 2017. Having watched the practice from afar, he chose to join the prestigious group and help carry on its traditions.
Dr. Swistun completed significant training. He attended the University of Illinois for medical school and general surgery after earning a degree in visual arts from the University of Chicago. He earned his M.D. from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine and completed his Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Residency at the University of Utah.

El Dr. Swistun combina un rico historial en artes visuales con años de experiencia en cirugía plástica en múltiples especialidades. El Dr. Swistun está regresando a San Diego desde Beverly Hills donde trabajó junto al Dr. William Rahal en Verona Plastic Surgery, completando una Beca en Cirugía Plástica Estética con los doctores de Beverly Hills.

Tanto el Dr. Swistun como su esposa, la psicóloga Dominika, nacieron en Polonia y vinieron a vivir a los Estados Unidos siendo aún adolescentes, luego formando una familia con tres hijos. El Dr. Swistun comenta “el planteo que me hago siempre es: ¿Qué haría si este paciente fuera mi esposa o mi hijo? Y enseguida encuentro la respuesta.”
El Dr. Swistun admira desde hace tiempo a La Jolla Cosmetic, refiriéndose a La Jolla como el Beverly Hills de San Diego. Tanto él como su esposa habían decidido retornar a San Diego donde habían vivido en los tiempos que él trabajaba como oficial médico de la marina y estaba destinado con los Marines de los Estados Unidos. Luego de estar en actividad, el Dr. Swistun volvió al sur de California en 2017. Habiendo estado estudiando este centro desde lejos, decidió unirse a este prestigioso grupo y ayudar a continuar con sus tradiciones.
EL Dr. Swistun tiene un importante camino recorrido académicamente, hizo la carrera médica y de cirugía general en la Universidad de Illinois luego de obtener un título en Artes Visuales en la Universidad de Chicago. Obtuvo su título de Medicina de la Universidad de Illinois en el Colegio de Medicina de Chicago y su residencia en Cirugía Plástica y Reconstructiva en la Universidad de Utah.
