Due to its amazing mix of history, culture, arts, shopping and entertainment, Paris remains the second most visited city in Europe, second only to London. Millions of people visit the City of Light every year and with so many points of interest, there is something for everyone. The most iconic places to see in Paris include the Eiffel Tower, l’Arc de Triomphe and Notre-Dame Cathedral, or the lesser known Sainte-Chapelle. As we explored the streets of Paris we cherished visiting picturesque neighborhoods, like Montmartre which housed and inspired artists for decades, to Saint-Germain-des-Prés with its quintessential café patios and designer shops. A lesser-known museum, Phono Museum Paris highlights 140 years of recorded sound and showcases over 300 phonographs, victrolas and jukeboxes, turned out to be an unexpected delight.
In the center of the city, we were awestruck with the magnitude of the Eiffel Tower from which we enjoyed 360-degree views of the city. We then ventured off to The Louvre, which is the world’s largest art museum and home to countless works of art including the Mona Lisa. A trip to Paris would not be complete without visiting The Palace of Versailles which sits on the outskirts of the city, a short metro ride away. This chateau was the principal royal residence for French royalty between 1682 and 1789 and housed famous historical figures like King Louis XVI.
One of the best parts of visiting Paris is the food and wine. From crepes, pain au chocolate, fresh bread from the Boulangerie, steak frites and more there are culinary delights to suit everyone. Beautiful parks and gardens to shopping, museums, iconic attractions, world famous cafes and more Paris makes for a perfect ESCAPADITA.
La ciudad de las luces
Gracias a su increíble amalgama de historia, cultura, arte, compras y entretenimiento es que París continúa siendo la ciudad más visitada de Europa después de Londres. Cada año, millones de personas visitan la Ciudad Luz con tantos puntos de interés que siempre hay algo para cada uno. Los lugares más icónicos a visitar incluyen la Torre Eiffel, El Arco del Triunfo y la catedral de Notre-Dame o la menos conocida Sainte-Chapelle.
