The High Art of Celebration at the Mingei Museum is one of the first-ever exhibitions to spotlight piñatas as a traditional craft and vibrant contemporary art form. This show includes more than 80 works made by Latino artists and makers from across the U.S. Explore how piñatas are designed, constructed, and executed, along with the role they play in modern material culture and in artistic practices.

Guests also enjoy live music and sharing time with their friends. SMSC’s arts program is designed for adults with disabilities and is a crucial component of their mission.

Monterey Jazz Festival –

One of the world’s longest-running musical events, the Monterey Jazz Festival celebrates its 65th year with a once-in-a-lifetime ensemble. On January 26 enjoy the Monterey Jazz Festival which began with the idea of taking the musical spirit along with artists who reflect that spirit, and fashion a musical program that engages all the artistry and energy of the festival and bring it to jazz fans throughout the country.
