Christmas in July Celebrate the Season of Giving All Summer Long

Holiday magic does not have to wait until December. This July, the Foundation for Developmental Disabilities (FDD) invites the community to come together in the spirit of giving; sharing joy, easing burdens, and helping families feel seen, supported, and celebrated.

As part of the Community Connection Series: 40 Years of Impact, the Foundation will host Christmas in July at Koi Zen Cellars on Thursday, July 23, 2026. In a warm and festive setting, guests will enjoy wine flights, light bites, and the chance to turn a joyful evening into meaningful support for children and families in our community.

At the heart of the evening is a holiday toy drive. Guests are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy for children supported through the Season of Sharing program – and as a thank you, everyone who donates will take home a special FDD souvenir.

Toys collected at Christmas in July will be distributed to families during the holiday season, when the need for connection and celebration is felt most. For families navigating significant challenges, a gift is more than a package. It is a moment of joy, a sign of care, and a reminder that their community is standing with them. “Every act of kindness reminds a family they are valued. Christmas in July brings our community together to share joy and create moments of hope that last well beyond the season,” Sitara Sethi shared with GB Magazine.

Christmas in July at Koi Zen Cellars launches the annual Season of Sharing program, which provides holiday gift cards to families served by the San Diego Regional Center in San Diego and Imperial Counties. For individuals and families facing financial hardship, this support can ease stress, restore dignity, and make room for joy during the holiday season. For donors and supporters, it is a simple but powerful way to help create memories that every family deserves.

For 40 years, FDD has stood alongside individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) and the families who care for them, funding resources, opportunities, and moments of connection that strengthen lives across San Diego and Imperial Counties. In partnership with nonprofits, service providers, and SDRC, the Foundation supports emergency assistance, education, workforce development, housing, and inclusive community experiences. By attending Christmas in July at Koi Zen Cellars, guests become part of that legacy of care and help build a more compassionate, inclusive future.

Tickets are on sale now, and space is limited. Visit www.foundationfordd.org/events to reserve your spot and help bring joy to local families who need it most.
