Celebrate Our Coast in Chula Vista!

Share

Set against the stunning backdrop of the San Diego Bay National Wildlife Refuge, the Living Coast Discovery Center invites guests to one of its most anticipated annual events: Farm to Bay, taking place Saturday, August 8th from 4-8 PM. This signature celebration brings together coastal conservation, sustainable cuisine, and unforgettable animal encounters for a one-of-a-kind evening that captures the spirit of the region.

Hosted at the Living Coast in Chula Vista, Farm to Bay showcases some of San Diego’s best local restaurants, breweries, and wineries, offering guests a taste of the region’s vibrant food and drink scene. As the sun sets over San Diego Bay, this 21+ event comes alive with music, interactive exhibits, and unique opportunities to connect with their resident wildlife. From close-up animal encounters to conversations with dedicated staff, volunteers, and long-time supporters, attendees gain a deeper understanding of Living Coast’s work – and how they can be part of a thriving natural coast.

A unique cornerstone of Farm to Bay is its commitment to sustainability through a Zero Waste initiative as part of the event. Partners use compostable or reusable service materials, while a team led by graduates of the Living Coast’s Master Composter Training Course carefully sort all event waste. Clearly labeled stations guide guests in proper disposal techniques, and leftover food and materials are diverted from landfills by using our onsite compost piles and local commercial facilities. This approach allows attendees to fully enjoy the evening while actively contributing to and learning about everyday environmental solutions.

Whether you are savoring a thoughtfully paired dish, sipping a locally crafted beverage, or meeting an animal ambassador, every moment at Farm to Bay connects back to the Living Coast’s mission: inspiring the community to connect with and care for our coastal environment.

Proceeds from the event directly support Living Coast’s educational and community programs, animal care, and sustainability initiatives that serve thousands of local students, families, and visitors all year long.

Join the fun at the Living Coast Discovery Center on August 8th for an unforgettable evening of sunset views, exceptional food and drink, wildlife encounters, and meaningful impact. For more information about Farm to Bay and other upcoming events at the Living Coast go to: www.thelivingcoast.org
