Just in Time Legacy Continues

On April 17, at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla, Just in Time for Foster Youth celebrated the retirement of Development Director and Co-Founder Diane Cox, while also introducing Just in Time’s new Director of Philanthropy, Rajah Gainey.

Reflection, gratitude, and renewed purpose were the themes of the evening as guests enjoyed fine dining, as well as music performances by Just in Time alumni and Spoken Word by JIT alum Sauna Johnson.

The evening started out with comments from Rockette Richardson Ewell, California Region Manager, Community Affairs at U.S. Bank, which has been a Legacy sponsor of JIT services and events since 2010. U.S. Bank was a driving force in the launch of JIT’s Financial Fitness service, a three-level series that teaches financial literacy at progressive levels to meet youth where they are on their financial literacy journey.

Rajah Gainey: As one of the first 25 youth to be served by Just in Time, Rajah’s journey represents the impact of a caring community of support and lasting connection. Now, after more than a decade of leadership in mission-driven work, including his recent role as Associate Director of Development, Office of Housing Administration at San Diego State University, Rajah returns to lead Just in Time’s philanthropic vision into a new chapter.
