The Gala at MCASD was chaired by Board Member Ryan Herrell along with his wife, CEO of Schubach Aviation Kimberly Herrell. The evening featured an exquisite gala dinner celebrating the ineffable essence of joie de vivre and the impact of art in all our lives. The evening also welcomed Los Angeles-based artist Kelly Akashi whose first solo exhibition, Kelly Akashi: Formations, will be on view at MCASD later this fall.
The Gala took inspiration from this body of work, encompassing a selection of artworks made over the past decade. After the sunset, the After Party took the gala to another level with live music, dancing, specialty cocktails and indulgent late-night snacks.
The Gala drew a dynamic crowd of art patrons, philanthropists, and cultural leaders. Among those in attendance were Anahi Arata, Tamara Lafarga Joseph, Una Davis, Corina Antal, Jillian Spear, Kathryn Kanjo, Kimberly Herrell, Stefanie Termini, David Malmuth, Danielle Landreville, Jessica Willoughby, Vidi Revelli, Josh Wickman, all gathering in support of MCASD’s mission to bring contemporary art to life in San Diego.
