Benefiting the Neuroscience Institute at Rady Children’s Hospital
With Faith, Hope, and Dedication, the Charity Ball Committee has been hard at work on preparations for the 113th Anniversary Charity Ball, The Power of Love. The time is always right for the power of love.
Few words can capture what we have been through together as a caring community. As we move ahead, we do so with a sense of renewal and appreciation for the health and future of our families and the community we call home. Through the power of the philanthropy, the beloved Charity Ball tradition continues to help thousands of local children and their families, by supporting Rady Children’s Hospital’s innovative, compassionate and globally renowned pediatric health care.
As Chairman, along with Co-Chairman Lisa Vieira, and our energetic committee, we are planning a glorious celebration with all the trimmings on March 5, 2022. This year’s Charity Ball is inspired by the beauty, grandeur and innovation of the Victorian period, so apropos as the Hotel del Coronado undergoes a magnificent renovation. The Del herself is a powerful inspiration for the theme, with her colorful history, elegance, and inventive original features such as Thomas Edison’s revolutionary electrical system, as well as being the incomparable setting for well over a century of hosting the Charity Ball.
The elegant evening offers a VIP Pre-Ball Reception for major donors, followed by a formal dinner in the historic Crown Room, and then on to the Grand Ballroom to continue the spirited celebration with libations and dancing to an array of classic, jazz and contemporary favorites, courtesy of Society Beat Big Band Orchestra.
The Charity Ball is making history once again with a new beneficiary, the Neuroscience Institute at Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego – forging a new frontier in brain health and elevating the standard for pediatric neurological health care. We are proud to help children and their families struggling with the life-altering challenges of neurological diseases and disorders such as autism, epilepsy, brain cancers, spinal and neuromuscular conditions, and so much more.
