The Power Of Philanthropy In Pursuit Of Health Equity

Share

At San Ysidro Health, they believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live a healthy life, regardless of their zip code or ability to pay. They know that a healthy and educated community is a thriving community, and they are committed to improving the health and well-being of the communities they serve with access for all. But the truth is that they cannot do it alone, especially as the families they serve are struggling with increased costs for living essentials and the aftermath of the pandemic. To this end, and with the help of their supporters and partners, San Ysidro Health is leading the way to ensure that high-quality, compassionate, accessible and affordable healthcare services are available for the entire family.

San Ysidro Health is supported by a critical and special network of generous volunteers through their Philanthropy Leadership Council (PLC). PLC members amplify the impact of San Ysidro Health’s services and create opportunities to raise its profile through introductions to stakeholders; lead and participate intentionally in San Ysidro Health’s annual major fundraising efforts. Together, they are accelerating progress toward health equity, which is defined as everyone having a fair and just opportunity to attain their highest level of health. Achieving health equity requires understanding and addressing the social drivers of health and health disparities – factors that directly influence health outcomes like lack of opportunity and resources to protect, improve and maintain health.

Last year, with the support and help of their PLC Members and Corporate Partners, San Ysidro Health was able to serve 125,000 patients throughout the county, administer nearly 100,000 COVID-19 vaccines and grow their dedicated staff to 2,500 to better serve their communities. Partnering with San Ysidro Health means being associated with one of San Diego’s largest and most well-respected nonprofit community health providers.
If you are considering volunteering your time, San Ysidro Health cordially invites you to learn more about volunteering your time, talent, and treasure via their Philanthropy Leadership Council. With your help, they can continue their efforts toward health equity for all San Diegans. For more information, email [email protected].
