Jewish Federation of San Diego County hosted an important conversation with the topic of Jewish poverty in San Diego, featuring a panel discussion with members of the Poverty Working Group. Attendees included Ellen Pierson, Ronit Droker, Carol Rosenthal, Rachel Herman, Julie Gordon, Debbie Kromberg, Danielle Weizman, Hailey Pryce Shidler, Jamie Fox, Heidi Gantwerk, Olga Gordon, Tina Kholos, Debra Cohen, and Randy Savarese. One of the ways the group is working together to reduce poverty—particularly hygiene poverty in the community—is through the launch of a local chapter of Dignity Grows. The event concluded with a packing party, where participants assembled tote bags for local partners to distribute to neighbors in need.
