1. Making a difference! Giving Back Magazine, Andrew Morgan Furniture and Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego are partnering to launch a new outreach program for the Latina philanthropic community, ¡Día de Alegría! On September 4, a reception celebrating Latinas and Amigas will be held at a private estate in Rancho Santa Fe and we love that our Co-Publisher Danitza Villanueva is Chairing the event. www.rmhcsd.org

2. Stay late or Sleep out! Each of us has a humanitarian stake in helping to find solutions to the challenges of our homeless brothers and sisters. 3. Honoring those who died on September 11th, 2001! On September 8, hundreds of firefighters, public safety officers, civilians and family members will gather at the San Diego Bayfront Hilton to honor the lives lost and create an experience none of us will ever forget and climb the hotel stairs in their memory. 4. A Gold Ribbon brings awareness to Childhood Cancer! September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the leading cause of death from disease in children. Almost 13,000 children under the age of 21 are diagnosed with cancer every year; approximately ¼ of them will not survive the disease. 1.      Ferragosto 2013…. Little Italy America, the Roaring 20’s, the largest themed Italian American Gala comes Roaring back to Little Italy on August 17. Don your fedoras, frills for A Night When Everyone is Italian, and enjoy a 1920’s car show, burlesque dancers, casino, music, dancing and a five-course dinner. 2.      Unleash your inner child…. and help hundreds of Boys & Girls in San Diego at the same time at the hilarious half marathon and wacky 5K at Jack Murphy Stadium on July 7. 4.      (RE)Discover Tijuana…. at the Mingei International Museum on July 19. Enjoy an evening of art, music and food – celebrating the culture and cuisine of Tijuana and Guadalupe Valley while viewing Mingei International Museum’s new exhibitions. To mark the 124th anniversary of Tijuana, the museum will bring a bit of Tijuana back to Balboa Park. The event will feature food by Chef Julian Plasencia, plus wines and margaritas from the Baja California region, live music and more. www.mingei.org
