On Saturday, December 15th, the festive San Diego Santa Run is back with 5K and 1-mile races where runners are decked out in Santa-inspired attire. Adults and children, and even dogs, are invited to run. Afterward, you can kick back and enjoy the 38th Annual Pacific Beach Holiday Parade.



Waterfront Holiday Adventure Park

Holiday by the Bay, benefitting USO San Diego, will feature a two-story, 100-foot ice tubing slide, night snow flurries, bumper cars, and an interactive light show with a glorious 30-foot tall Christmas tree. Begin a holiday tradition to remember by attending during the entire month of December through January 5th.


Santa Paws is Coming to Town

Head to the Gaslamp Quarter on December 16th for cuteness overload at the 11th Annual Vet + Pet West Gaslamp Holiday Pet Parade. Pets of all breeds, shapes, and sizes will strut their stuff wearing their most festive holiday costumes. The best-dressed pets will even take home some well-earned prizes.


All is Calm

Students and the San Diego public are welcomed to University of San Diego to attend the “Lessons and Carols” Christmas celebration by the USD Choral Scholars. The more than century-old tradition will include readings from the Old and New Testaments and music. Two sessions will be held on Saturday, December 8th and Sunday, December 9th.


Apollo 8 Anniversary Celebration

On December 20th, celebrate the 50th anniversary of Bill Anders’ historic Apollo 8 mission. The elegant evening at the San Diego Air & Space Museum will take a look back at the ground-breaking, first manned orbit around the mood, and what followed, with Bill Anders himself and his wife, Valerie.
