1. Adopt a Pet
This August you can participate in the Clear the Shelters event by adopting or fostering one of the many animals waiting for their furever home. San Diego Humane Society, along with other organizations, will be waiving adoption fees for the day in order to help as many animals as possible.

2. Run a Virtual Marathon
The Champions for Health Virtual Sunset 5k is unlike any marathon you have done. Complete the 5k – with whoever and wherever you want – between June 20th and August 22nd, and raise funds for Project Access San Diego, which collaborates with healthcare professionals to provide life-saving services to those in need.

3. Celebrate Italian Heritage
August 7th is Italian Heritage Night at Padres Stadium. Attend the Padres vs. Rockies game and celebrate Italian heritage, a collaboration between The Little Italy Association, Convivio, the Italian Cultural Center and the Padres. You will also receive access to special programming and guests, as well as a commemorative hat.

4. Bike the Bay
There is no better time to enjoy San Diego sunshine while distancing, which is why it is a great idea to participate in this year’s virtual Bike the Bay on August 23rd. Proceeds will benefit San Diego County Bicycle Coalition (SDCBC), which focuses on making bicycling better in San Diego.

5. Enjoy San Diego Arts
ArtWalk @ Liberty Station is back the weekend of August 8th and 9th. The beloved fine art festival is in its 15th year of celebrating visual arts, music, and interactive art-making. In between observing these exhibits, make sure to stop by for a refreshing glass of wine at M Winehouse
