Village Walk at Eastlake
This year’s Summer Sundays event at the enchanting Village Walk at Eastlake will kick off on Sunday, June 3. Each week, a different band, car club and children’s craft activity will be featured, and the June 3rd event will showcase Spotlight Ladies and Center Stage—the popular show choirs from Eastlake High School accompanied by complimentary food and product samples from the Village Walk merchants.
The six-week event at this beautiful European style shopping center includes something for every member of the family. For children ages 12 and under, free craft activities each week along with free balloon sculptures and face painting. For mom and dad, a variety of great bands and cool car club exhibits.
Additional musical performances will include the Southwestern College Chamber Singers on Sunday, June 9. This college ensemble offers a high energy performance that will engage the audience with music from Broadway Shows including “Razzle Dazzle ‘Em” from Chicago, “Cabaret” from Cabaret, “I’ve Got Rhythm” by George Gershwin from the Girl Crazy Broadway Show and “I’m All Alone” from Spamalot.
On June 16, Graceland—”An Elvis Presley Tribute” will shake things up with a medley of tunes created to honor Elvis Presley. Y3K, San Diego’s premiere dance band, will be on stage on June 23. This modern band specializes in familiar and fun dance hits. For the June 30 Summer Sundays event, Joe Rathburn’s Island will be performing tropical rock that includes rock, country, reggae, calypso, Cajun, Hawaiian, Afro-Cuban and folk. And the last performance of the series will occur on July 7 by The Earthmovers Featuring Lady J. Whether playing blazing Rockin’ blues, a scorching slow burner, a soul-stirring R & B number or a fiery heartfelt love ballad, this electrifying band with the powerful, gospel influenced vocals of Lady J will have you on your feet in no time.
