The curator of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, Kyra Schuster, was at Temple Beth-El in La Jolla to present “A Conversation with Anthony Acevedo”. Mr. Acevedo, a Mexican-American WWII veteran and prisoner of war, shared with guests, Holocaust Survivors and World War II Veterans his experience as a captive soldier during Nazi-era Germany. He recently donated to the museum the diary he kept hidden chronicling the hardships and deaths of his compatriots. His stories help document the untold stories of hundreds of prisoners of war in Buchenwald, Germany.
