Led and governed by volunteers committed to quality healthcare, the mission of Tri-City Hospital Foundation is to inspire and nurture health and wellness in the community by promoting community and philanthropic support of Tri-City Medical Center.

Since its creation in 1964, Tri-City Hospital Foundation has served as an integral link between the community and the hospital. They have raised more than $43 million in support of Tri-City Medical Center initiatives, from blankets that keep patients warm to the latest robotic surgery systems and everything in between. They have done this with the help of generous donors who help change lives with their gifts and tireless volunteers who give their time.

With 397 beds, more than 500 physicians practicing 60 specialties and nearly 2,300 employees, Tri-City Medical Center is a nationally recognized hospital, featuring leading edge technology—as well as a world-renowned medical and professional staff. It consistently earns a reputation for highly-rated, compassionate patient care. Tri-City Medical Center admits more than 26,000 patients a year and thousands more are treated on an outpatient basis. Additional lives are saved and improved every year in the hospital’s state-of-the-art emergency room.

Tri-City Hospital Foundation recently raised $1.5 million to help acquire the da Vinci® Si HD Robotic Surgical System. The most advanced robotic surgical system on the market today, it allows surgeons to perform minimally invasive procedures so that women with gynecological cancers can be treated with significantly less pain, less risk of infection and faster recovery time.

“Fashion that Heals”

Presented by Saks Fifth Avenue Takes Center Court at La Costa Resort and Spa

Game, set, match! From July 14-22, the Mercury Insurance Open presented by Tri-City Medical Center will take place at the beautiful La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad. The annual tennis tournament features some of the best women’s tennis players in the world in a 28-player singles draw and a 16-team doubles draw.

To complement the world-class tennis, and in keeping with the spirit of promoting health and wellness, Tri-City Hospital Foundation will host its inaugural “Fashion that Heals” with Saks Fifth Avenue of South Coast Plaza on July 19 from 4 to 6 p.m. The event, benefiting women’s health programs at Tri-City Medical Center, will feature a silent auction, cocktails, appetizers and a runway show showcasing today’s hottest designs. In addition, it will include an enlightening presentation by Dr. Mimi Guarneri, renowned cardiologist and national leader in the field of integrative medicine.

As part of “Fashion that Heals,” Tri-City Hospital Foundation welcomes keynote speaker Dr. Mimi Guarneri. As the pioneer of the Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine and author of The Heart Speaks, a poignant collection of stories from heart patients who have benefited from integrative medicine approaches, Dr. Guarneri will discuss “Health is Wealth: Renewing Body, Mind and Spirit.”

“We no longer wait for disease to happen,” says Dr. Guarneri. “Diabetes, heart disease, osteoporosis, cancer, obesity and inflammation are all preventable. We believe that information leads to knowledge and that transformation is obtained by putting this knowledge into practice. I applaud Tri-City Wellness Center for its comprehensive approach to the prevention, early detection and treatment of disease through the use of global healing traditions.”

Tickets to “Fashion that Heals” are $200 for the fashion show only, or $225 for the fashion show and the evening’s tennis match. For additional information or to RSVP, please call Tri-City Hospital Foundation at (760) 940-3370 or visit
