Advancing Health and Wellness
The annual Baile Diamond Ball, hosted by Tri-City Hospital Foundation, is one of North County’s most anticipated galas. It is also the Tri-City Medical Center’s biggest fundraiser of the year. In 2011, it raised more than a half million dollars for advancing health in Carlsbad, Oceanside and Vista.
Set in the beautiful Park Hyatt Aviara Resort in Carlsbad, the Baile Diamond Ball attracts hundreds of community supporters, donors and the medical community for good times, glamour and to benefit good health.
“Tri-City Medical Center plays a vital role in the overall health of our community,” hospital CEO Larry Anderson tells Giving Back Magazine. “For over 30 years, the gala has provided financial support to help us create services, build facilities and provide exceptional health care for tens of thousands of North County residents.”
This prestigious winter gala is led by an Honorary Committee of civic and philanthropic leaders who always ensure a memorable evening. One highlight of the event is the presentation of Tri-City Hospital Foundation’s Legacy Award. The foundation has created a tradition of coming together to honor extraordinary men and women for their accomplishments and contributions that enhance the quality of life in our community. The Legacy Award honors those who exemplify humanitarian leadership values.
“Our mission is to advance health and wellness in the communities our hospital serves,” said Tobi Ferguson, the Foundation’s CEO. “With the support of our wonderful donors, volunteers and the hospital’s world-class medical staff and physicians, the Baile Diamond Ball has become more than just a rewarding fundraiser and great party but also a tribute to the great relationship between the community and its hospital.”
Last year’s gala – its milestone Golden Anniversary Ball – celebrated the hospital’s 50th anniversary and raised $560,000, the largest gala amount to date.
