This holiday season, make memories at events you can enjoy with your family. We share with you five holiday events that will create joy in your lives.
1. Polar Bear Tea
Give a little, get a little this holiday season at the Polar Bear Tea at the Hotel del Coronado. Families can spend quality time together while enjoying a classic tea experience on December 21st. Those who wish to participate can bring a new stuffed animal to donate to Toys for Tots to spread some cheer to a child in need. In return, you will receive a Coca-Cola® polar bear keepsake.
2. Nutcracker Holiday Tea
Take part in traditional festivities at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar on Saturday, December 23rd, watch Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” performed by the Scripps Performing Arts Academy while enjoying delicious tea sandwiches and French pastries; the event will benefit Isabella’s Giraffe Club. For some extra fun, their ‘Twas the Night Before Nutcracker Tea Breakfast Package for a magical evening at the hotel on Friday followed by brunch in the morning.

3. Tis the Season at The Retreat
Belle, Hope, Peanut, and Nutmeg are excitedly waiting to meet your family at the Children’s Nature Retreat. You can “adopt an animal” to provide them with specialized care they need to stay happy and healthy. Celebrate your family’s contribution at the “New Parent’s Party” on January 6th. Their furry friends will also be in their holiday best at their Lighting of the Christmas Tree on December 2nd.

4. Jungle Bells at the Zoo
Get ready for a wild holiday experience with Jungle Bells at the San Diego Zoo. Holiday cheer will take over featuring animal light sculptures as well as special entertainment such as acrobatic elves and carolers. There are also an array of limited-time activities such as the Northern Frontier’s Holiday Forest where you can visit their winter-friendly animals, Gingerbread Landing where kids can interact with their favorite zoo characters, and more!
5. Boats Aglow in the Bay
The 46th Annual San Diego Bay Parade of Lights is a fantastical sight you will not want to miss. Join the San Diego boating community and thousands more on the Bay’s shore on December 10th and 17th to see this local holiday tradition up close and personal. This year’s theme is “Arrrgh! A Pirate’s Christmas” and promises to bring some extravagantly decorated boats with a fun and festive twist.
