Just months away from opening the newest hospital tower in San Diego, Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center is holding a unique luncheon atop the 7th floor rooftop café on September 19th. Proceeds from the State of the Art Luncheon benefit Sharp HealthCare Foundation to fund advanced surgery technology at Sharp Chula Vista; a place providing the next-generation of medical innovation to enhance our binational region’s health care.

Chaired by South Bay community leaders, Patricia Alvarez del los Cobos and Paola Morris, the State of the Art luncheon will begin with a behind the scenes tour, reception and art gallery featuring artwork from Raúl Anguiano. Then, celebrity chef, Ricardo Muñoz Zurita, owner of several restaurants in Mexico City and author of 11 books, will present a world-class culinary experience for guests.

“We hope to engage and inform people about Sharp Chula Vista’s expansion, celebrate our growing community, inspire support for the campaign to help build this new hospital and shed light on Sharp’s commitment to the binational region,” said Sarah Cantu, Senior Director of Philanthropy at Sharp HealthCare Foundation.

By early 2020, the doors of the new hospital tower will open. Its seven floors will be filled with more than 100 private patient rooms, 6 state-of-the-art operating rooms, healing environments, advanced technologies and skilled caregivers dedicated to the well-being of the community.

“Sharp has continuously demonstrated a genuine interest in the Hispanic Community by always wanting to learn more about the culture and values which contribute heavily to a person’s success in achieving a health goal.  I love donating my time and serving the organization,” Patricia Alvarez de los Cobos, Event Co-Chair shared with Giving Back Magazine.

This event offers an exclusive opportunity for guests to have access to renowned artwork, partake in a culinary experience with a world-renowned chef, engage with health care leaders and physicians and get a behind the scenes look at the new hospital before it opens for patient care.
