Stars & Stripes Tournament is one of the largest children’s charity events in the nation bringing together more than 600 business and philanthropic leaders for an ultimate experience at the Hilton Los Cabos that includes world class deep-sea fishing, golf on Mexico’s finest courses, day retreat at Eforea Spa, and nightly beachside concerts.

This exclusive event has donated more than $29 million to youth charities in the last 22 years. Last year alone, the event raised more than $3 million. Mi Escuelita, a South Bay Community Services (SBCS) program, is honored to be one of seven beneficiaries and the only nonprofit from San Diego County.

Stars & Stripes has been instrumental in supporting the expansion of Mi Escuelita plus its plans to replicate to additional communities in San Diego County. Currently located in Chula Vista, the free therapeutic preschool serves children three to five years of age who have all faced emotional, psychological and physical abuse or witnessed a family member become a victim of domestic violence. The preschool is always at capacity.

While we can never erase the unthinkable trauma the children have experienced in their short lives, we canprovide Mi Escuelita. With just one visit, you can see and feel joy. There is laughter and giggles. There are friendships being made. There is healing and hope. Because of support from community and events like Stars & Stripes, SBCS is helping children create a stronger foundation and get the right start for school.

Instead of acting out their trauma in unhealthy ways, children learn how to express their feelings in a safe environment. Studies show that they are also doing well academically. Mi Escuelita also helps the entire family heal so they don’t feel they have to do this alone. They receive support with behavior issues and learning opportunities in and away from the classroom.

Help expand Mi Escuelita to serve more children in San Diego County by enjoying this spectacular three-day exclusive charity eventbeing held June 27 – June 30, 2019 in Cabo San Lucas.
