GTK SALUD SIRAK BALOYANSirak Baloyan is a very good friend of mine. From a very young age I remember him working so hard at an industry that is not easy to succeed at. He is someone that has passionately followed his dream and has proven that with discipline and persistence, you can achieve your dreams. For that, he inspires me to be better and to never lose sight of my dreams.

Sirak Baloyan grew up in Tijuana, Mexico and even as a child, he was passionate about music. In 2008 and 2009 Sirak y su Sonora Antilla performed at The Oscar Awards Official After-Party. He has received numerous awards such as “The Music Vision Award” and has also performed at the PUERTO RICO SALSA CONGRESS where the best salsa dancers in the world compete.

Sirak has performed many concerts throughout the world and is currently working on videos for his new album. Sirak knows how important it is to lead a healthy lifestyle, which he does by working out and eating healthy. I had a chance to sit down with him and ask him about how he prepares for his concerts, tours and how he stays fit, healthy and young .

What is your workout routine?

I work out with a personal trainer two or three times a week. Four or five times is better. My routine consists of body sculpting weights for muscle and shape. I try to add two more days of other physical outdoor activities such as golf, tennis, walking or swimming. This system keeps me moving all week.

When in San Diego, I like to work out at the beach or park. I do a lot of stretching to keep me injury-free and to help me with flexibility.

How do you mentally and physically prepare for a concert and how do you recover?

Preparing for a concert is very physically demanding. It requires a lot of discipline so it is imperative to be fit for the performance. There is a lot of time on stage which can be very exhausting.

Because of my workout routine I am usually prepared for a concert. However when I know I will perform I increase the number of times I work out per week for at least a month before my performance. I watch what I eat very carefully and keep a strict diet. I perform better at a lower weight as it improves my agility on stage and I look more physically fit. I also prepare by rehearsing all the “moves” that I use in my concert. This gives me more confidence on stage knowing that I have prepared properly.

Before and after concerts I like to use a hot tub as it helps me relax and it helps my muscles and circulation. I also get a massage to reduce stress.

What does your diet consist of?

The first thing I do when I wake up is drink water. Breakfast is usually fruit, nuts, bran and a multivitamin with Biotin for hair nails and skin. I stay away from canned foods and try to eat naturally grown food that is mainly organic. I also try to eat low calorie protein.

What is your favorite treat?

Anything sweet: chocolate lava cake, doughnuts, cookies, ice cream, chocolates… but only in moderation of course!

Do you take care of your skin?

Yes, I use a face scrub exfoliator. It smoothes out my skin’s surface by taking away dead skin cells and it re- energizes my complexion. It is derived from Apricot Kernels. I also use a daily lotion that fortifies and enriches my skin, which contains almond oil and Sea Minerals.
