Amazing memories have been made in SeaWorld over the past 50 years. To mark this milestone, SeaWorld organized a grand celebration including family members of the original founders of the park, longtime employees, community leaders and many invited guests. When SeaWorld opened, its foundation had already been established, so giving back has been part of SeaWorld’s mission before the parks even existed! SeaWorld has saved and rehabilitated over 23,000 animals over the years, and has increased the love, respect and appreciation of the natural world in the over 400 million people that have had personal interactions with the fish, birds and mammals that form part of the world of the sea. Part of the celebration included the grand opening of Explorer’s Reef where you can interact and touch cleaner fish, sharks, rays and horseshoe crabs.
