About Sanford Institute of Philanthropy
Mr. Sanford’s desire to help support the work of nonprofits on a wider scale led to an innovative idea to help empower frontline fundraisers to be more effective. That vision is being expanded nationally by Sanford Institute of Philanthropy at National University, which is dedicated to strengthening the impact of nonprofits through fundraising-focused educational programs that are presented by recognized nonprofit leaders, members of academia and renowned philanthropists. The founding Sanford Institute of Philanthropy at National University was launched in 2014 to develop curriculum that is now being shared with affiliated Institutes around the country. Sanford Institute of Philanthropy, which has educated over 90 thousand nonprofit leaders, is one of the first institutes of its kind that offers comprehensive curriculum that blends best practices from the business and nonprofit sectors, empowering fundraisers to more effectively advance their causes and greatly impact their organizations. The Institute offers seminars, workshops and webinars built around key topics such as Cause Selling, Marketing, Fundraising Strategies, and Relationship Building. About Sanford Harmony (PreK-6)
Sanford Harmony is a research-based social-emotional learning program that promotes positive peer interactions among students through lessons and activities that encourage communication, collaboration, and mutual respect. Inspired by Mr. Sanford, who saw a need to improve adult relationships starting at childhood, the program is available at no cost to schools and organizations. Sanford Harmony is rapidly expanding to benefit thousands of classrooms across the country and abroad, as well as after-school programs like the Boys and Girls Club. The program’s impacts include a more positive attitude toward school, increased academic performance among children, increased empathy among children, and reductions in stereotyping and classroom aggression. It has been nationally recognized as a SELect program, meeting the high standards of the organization that evaluates such programs, the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL).
About Sanford Inspire (PreK-12)
Sanford Inspire is based on the idea that every child should have not one, but many inspiring teachers. Sanford Inspire offers educators research-based teaching methodologies, and on-demand, self-guided online courses and video modules. The approaches are being used in pre-service and in-service teacher education programs, and for professional development. Designed to support inspiring classroom environments and based on Mr. Sanford’s desire to encourage children to develop to their fullest potential, the resources are designed to motivate and encourage children to be enthusiastic, active learners.
