The mission of the San Ysidro Health Center (SYHC) is “to improve the health and well-being of our community’s traditionally underserved and culturally diverse people.” SYHC is committed to providing the highest quality, compassionate, easily accessible and affordable health services for the entire family.
With a vast network of community clinics and program sites located throughout San Diego, SYHC improves the overall health and the well-being of our impoverished community by offering comprehensive primary care, dental, counseling and family support services. We are honored to serve over 85,000 patients, of which nearly half are children and adolescents. We strive to eliminate health disparities and become the connection to a permanent medical home for the most vulnerable families.
SYHC’s mobile medical units, known as the Healthy Steps Program, partner with elementary/ high schools, public housing complexes, supermarkets and health fairs to provide a variety of life saving, convenient services to children and adults of all ages. Services offered include preventative health screenings, physical exams, immunizations, pregnancy tests, dental referrals, and other minor screening/testing services. People who need additional care are referred to one of SYHC’s clinics.
