Village Walk at Eastlake in Chula Vista.
During December, people drive from throughout southern California to Village Walk at Eastlake in Chula Vista for a memorable holiday experience – a nightly snowfall. From December 1 through 24, the magical snowfall with choreographed music and lighting begins nightly at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. The snow falls near the Koi Pond at the beautiful shopping center, which features an Italian village ambiance with courtyards, bronze sculptures and appealing merchants, many with special holiday shopping and dining offers.
The snow experience at Village Walk at EastLake is free to the public, and children receive magic glasses to view the snowfall in rainbow colors. People will want to bring cameras to take pictures standing on the bridge during the snowfall, a perfect setting for family holiday photos. The nightly entertainment continues between the two snowfalls as guests enjoy local community groups caroling throughout the center.
Special daytime snowfalls are scheduled on Saturday, December 12 at 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. during the free Family Celebration from noon to 3 p.m. which features photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, free coloring books, train rides and a holiday craft activity for children age 12 and younger.
Village Walk at Eastlake is the only San Diego County location hosting the snowfall, which was created by Los Angeles-based MagicSnow Systems. Adam Williams, a former magician, invented the snow formula used to make the eco-friendly snowflakes that are mostly water, and as the snow falls, it vanishes on contact, leaving no residue.
The shopping village is located at the intersection of EastLake Parkway and Miller Drive in Chula Vista. The street address is 878 Eastlake Parkway, Chula Vista, 91914. See video highlights from last year’s snowfall at www.shopvillagewalk.com.
