LiveSource has solved a problem that existed long before Covid-19, but has become much more apparent because of the pandemic: there is more need than ever to raise money and it has become that much more difficult at the same time. There had to be a way to help charities fund their causes from the safety and comfort of your own home.

LiveSource was created by female entrepreneur and mother of three, Mary Levin, because she was not always able to attend the galas and fundraisers she was invited to, but wanted to support. Mary could not understand why she had to be present in person to scribble down her bid, or why she had to babysit the items she was interested in, or even why she could not support a fundraiser for an organization held in another state?

Meanwhile, her husband Scott, a family law attorney and sports enthusiast, wanted to know how to get his hands on his favorite players’ game jerseys. He wondered: could offer to donate in the player’s honor to a charity of their choice to add to his memorabilia collection? It would be a win-win all around: great optics for the player, the charity would receive a donation, and Scott would get his memorabilia! So together, the Levins created the LiveSource platform to solve all these problems.

LiveSource has become the no-touch solution for foundations to continue to host their auctions, often their largest source of fundraising. With both an app as well as a website, it is easy to find a charity, an auction, or an item you are interested in and alerts are set-up to let you know if you have been outbid. LiveSource has streamlined the entire process to be simple and accessible.

A school in Chicago can hold a student art auction online while a proud grandparent in South Florida can bid to support the school’s art program. A charity in San Diego can have a one night virtual gala featuring hundreds of items with a bidder in Philadelphia who wants to support the cause – or maybe they just want a great deal on an item up for grabs! A baseball team can partner with Susan G. Komen for the Cure and have special pink jerseys auctioned off after the game with proceeds going towards breast cancer research. The possibilities are endless!

This past year, as one fundraiser and gala after another had to be cancelled, LiveSource stepped up to the virtual plate to offer their services. And as sporting events went without crowds, LiveSource provided a way for fans to feel connected to their favorite teams while helping some deserving organizations.

Since 2016, LiveSource has helped hundreds of teams and charities, holding more than 5,000 auctions, and raising more than five million dollars to benefit organizations such as Wounded Warrior Project, Make-a-Wish Foundation, and the Humane Society. Locally, LiveSource is working with The San Diego Padres, The New Children’s Museum and Home of Guiding Hands, while nationwide the list of schools and other organizations signing up to hold virtual fundraisers continues to grow!
